Rant and Rave: Rave—30 Days with Morgan Spurlock, Wednesdays at 10pm on FX—Hats off to Morgan Spurlock for the first episode of his new FX show, 30 Days. The show is similar to his film Super Size Me; each week the camera follows an individual who has commited to a major lifestyle change for a month. In the first installment, Spurlock and his fiancee Alex move to Columbus, Ohio and try to live on minimum wage. Upcoming episodes include: a Christian who lives as a Muslim, a professional couple who attempt to survive without fossil fuels, and a mother who becomes a binge drinker. The highlight of the "Minimum Wage" episode occurred when Spurlock, trying to come up with free entertainment for his neice and nephew, looks on the website OhioTraveler.com. Among the items proposed as free entertainment were: Animal shelter—"Kind of a sad visit if you don't plan to adopt an animal, but you may consider volunteering to walk a dog." Bank—"Winter Advisory: If you wear a ski-mask, take it off before entering the bank. Kids love the big vaults." Courtroom—"Not
the place to practice heckling but you Hospital—"Again, just call and ask for a tour. Think of the eye-opening fun the kids could have." |
