and Rave: Rave—Wynn Casino Poker Room—The first time I went to play poker at the Wynn, the strangest thing happened. The dealer just left the table. We all thought that he got fed up and quit his job. When notified, the floorperson just sat down and started dealing while another floorperson found a new dealer for the game. This high level of customer service is present in everything they do at the Wynn. My one qualm with the room has to do with their "string-bet" rule. They require their dealers to declare string bets, which is all fine and dandy. However, when it is heads-up, the dealers are not supposed to call string-bets. I've noticed that this happens in practice only about 50% of the time. Apparently some of the dealers either don't know about this nuance or aren't smart enough to apply it when there are only two people left in the hand. I will say, however, that overall it is a great poker room, and I especially like that they have a generous comp program, with which you can eat at one of their many outstanding restaurants. |
